Kosovo's Prime Minister says a $1 billion (euro735,445 million) deal has been signed with American-Turkish consortium Bechtel-Enka to build a highway across Kosovo.

Father, relative charged in girl's scalding death

HARRISBURG, Pa. - A 10-year-old disabled girl severely burned byscalding bath water died after going more than a week without medicaltreatment, authorities said. Her father and a female relative werecharged in her death.

"If you'd see the photos and the condition that she was left in -just to lay in that bed with all those burns," said Police ChiefCharles Kellar. "I mean, it was horrible."

WASHINGTON - In a striking reach across party lines, the White House and key lawmakers agreed Thursday on a sweeping immigration plan to grant legal status to millions of people in the country unlawfully.

Mo., China respond much differently to flu case

A University of Missouri graduate student found to have swine flu after traveling to China has generated widely different responses from officials in two countries.

The 30-year-old man has the first confirmed case of swine flu in mainland China, where at least 60 people who had been on an airplane with him have been quarantined and authorities have sent text messages to mobile phones nationwide asking any other fellow passengers to report to the Beijing disease prevention bureau.
